The global battery energy storage industry continues to grow rapidly as countries accelerate renewable energy deployment and grid modernization.
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), battery storage is currently the fastest-growing power technology worldwide. In 2025, global battery storage deployment reached 108 GW, representing a 40% increase compared with the previous year. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries accounted for around 90% of new installations due to their cost advantages and long cycle life.
At the same time, major companies are increasing investments in utility-scale energy storage projects. Tesla’s energy storage business is expected to play a larger role in the company’s future growth as demand for large-scale storage systems continues to rise globally.
Industry analysts believe that energy storage systems are becoming essential for supporting solar and wind power integration, improving grid stability, and reducing electricity costs during peak demand periods. The market is also seeing strong growth in commercial and industrial storage applications.
